Curated Treasures in Creative Spaces | A Creative Retreat for Treasuring Life's Beauty, August 27-30th, 2026

  • Live Workshop

At Hunter Moon Homestead, where our friendship first bloomed, we return to share a retreat rooted in creativity, connection, and the art of treasuring what matters most. Curated Treasures in Creative Spaces is a hands-on, heart-centered experience where we’ll slow down, gather beauty, and make meaningful art together.

More than just making, this retreat is about being seen, connecting deeply, and sharing the joy of creating alongside kindred spirits. It’s about making new friends, laughing over shared discoveries, and finding beauty not just in the materials, but in the moments we create together.

Each part of the retreat is designed to hold and honor the little things we collect: pressed blooms, fragments of nature, found objects, and personal mementos. Using treasures from the land around us and from our own lives, this retreat invites you to craft not just art, but a space for reflection, remembrance, and joy. Join us where it all began, and be part of a truly special gathering.

Over the course of our time together, we’ll create:

  • A hand-stitched gathering bag
  • A portable flower press
  • A clay gathering bowl
  • An art journal for documenting and reflecting

NEW CLASS TECHNIQUES WE’LL EXPLORE

In addition to our handmade projects, we’ll explore a range of slow, meaningful creative practices, including:

  • Eco-dyeing vintage linens using natural elements from the land
  • Stitching techniques that encourage mindfulness and intention
  • Flower preservation to capture the fleeting beauty of nature
  • Treasure collecting walks to gather found objects and natural materials for use in our art

THE ARTISTS
Denise and Michelle visiting artists

Michelle Cox

Michelle Cox is a textile artist whose work is deeply rooted in her love for flowers and the quiet resilience they represent. In life’s most challenging seasons, flowers have been her refuge—offering comfort, peace, and inspiration. Often, her most vibrant and abundant gardens have bloomed out of hardship, becoming both a sanctuary and a quiet act of defiance against pain.

Michelle primarily works with hand-dyed vintage linens, infusing new life into textiles that carry history and memory. She also incorporates preserved florals gathered from her garden, creating pieces that celebrate both the fragility and endurance of beauty. Through her art, she honors the cycles of growth, decay, and renewal, inviting viewers to see the poetry in nature and the resilience within themselves.

Denise Sandy-Sanchez

Denise is a self-taught mixed-media and ceramic artist, who is filled with wonderment and admiration for the beauty all around her. From being mesmerized by the dancing clouds shifting into different formations, the ticks and cracks in the paths she walks, to the wonders and colors of nature changing from day to day, she believes life provides abundance for the heart to embrace, the mind to reflect upon, and for our creativity to be inspired.

At her inner core she is a dreamer who is always asking “what if” in the most positive sense of the question. Her art reflects wonderment for the possibilities and playfulness. She has fond memories of learning from and watching her mother and grandmother sew, crochet, and embroider. The strokes, marks, and/or stitches, included in her artwork are designed with the intent to connect her hand and heart to yours. It is her hope that each lesson and piece she shares will remind you that your creativity and the collective moments spent playing and refining are a valuable investment in you, others, and the beauty intended for you to share with the world.
